Artist Statement

Mor Eliezri’s paintings are rooted in a deep reverence for classical technique and a desire to explore personal philosophy and social themes through the lens of the individual. Her work merges masterful craftsmanship with a contemporary sensibility, resulting in timeless pieces that both captivate and provoke reflection - a pursuit of truth through beauty, and beauty through truth. Her paintings delve into the complexity of human relationships, the fragile interior of personal philosophy, and the eternal dance between light and darkness. Each canvas becomes a space where emotion is distilled into form, and silence speaks with weight.

Eliezri is classically trained in the atelier tradition, having studied at the prestigious Swedish Academy of Realist Art and the Barcelona Academy of Art. Her practice is deeply rooted in the rigorous methods of the Old Masters—from the slow layering of glazes to the careful orchestration of chiaroscuro—yet her vision is unmistakably her own. She does not merely replicate tradition; she revives it, reinterpreting classical technique through the lens of contemporary thought and personal introspection.

Her works are both visceral and contemplative, composed with meticulous attention to detail and a reverence for craftsmanship. In them, the viewer finds not only refined realism, but a haunting presence—a quiet emotional charge that lingers long after the gaze has turned away. Through light and shadow, solitude and connection, Eliezri paints the unseen: the inner lives we carry, the ties that bind us, and the timeless resonance of the human condition.
